Kale Mosque
It was built in the northwest corner of Kayseri Inner Castle. It is known as Fatih Mosque as well as Kale Mosque. Its patron is Fatih Sultan Mehmet. The mosque, which is referred to as Fatih Mosque in the records in the foundations, was built under the supervision of Gedik Ahmet Pasha, one of the Ottoman Vizier-i Azam, with the edict of Fatih Sultan Mehmet.
It is known that there was Karamanoğulları Masjid-i Şerifi in the same place before. With the end of the Karamanids rule in Kayseri and the beginning of the Ottoman rule, a mosque was built instead of this masjid due to its dilapidated state. The date of construction of the mosque is unknown as there is no inscription. However, it must have been built a few years before that, since it has a waqf of H.883 (M.1478).
