Kaleiçi Mosque

It was built together with the Caravanserai in 1618 by the Grand Vizier Öküz Mehmet Pasha in the 17th century. For this reason, it is also known as “Öküz Mehmet Pasha Mosque”. It is the only magnificent mosque of Kusadasi. Kaleici Mosque is the oldest mosque in the center of Kusadasi. The mosque is located in the historical Kaleici district, which is the main settlement of the city surrounded by walls.

The double-winged wooden door that covers the entrance opening is completely made with the "kündekari" technique, which is an old Turkish art.
