Mihrimah Sultan Mosque
Mihr-î-Mâh Sultan Mosque Located right next to the city walls in the Edirnekapı section of Istanbul's Karagümrük neighborhood. It was built by Mihrimah Sultan, the daughter of Suleiman the Magnificent. It was built by Mimar Sinan between 1563 and 1566.
The rectangular mosque is surrounded by a madrasah, a school, a tomb and baths. The 37 m high dome rests on three arches, with two columns on each side, three domes and mahfels on the right and left. The mihrab and minbar are made of stone work.
