Posof Central Mosque

According to the inscription on the pulpit of the mosque, it was built in 1863. The mosque has a rectangular plan and is made of cut stones. The building is close to a square plan. Its interior structure reflects the Ottoman period architecture. On a sarcophagus in the treasury area to the east of the mosque, the year 1771 is written, so it is thought that the construction date of the mosque may be older than 1868. It is understood that the building was repaired recently and a simple last congregation place and a minaret were added during this repair. The flat arched entrance door is surrounded by a profiled belt. The ceiling is not original, it is a simple roof covered with externally broken pyramidal sheet metal.
