Red Minaret Mosque

The minaret of today's mosque dates back to the Seljuk period, while the mosque section dates back to the Ottoman period. Since there is no inscription on it, it is not known when it was built. The minaret, which dates back to the Seljuk period, rises with a cylindrical body on a square base. The base is made of cut stone and the body is made of brick. A geometric interlaced strip runs along the body. There are ceramic plates called baçini on the lower and upper parts of this strip. The upper part of this minaret has also collapsed. The mosque, which was built later, has a transverse rectangular plan, the middle section is covered with a dome and the sides with barrel vaults. Some of the walls have survived from the mosque to the present day, and the upper cover has completely collapsed. The mosque is entered through a door opening onto the north facade. It has two mihrabs, one in the narthex and the other in the harim. The minaret and the mosque indicate different periods. However, the minaret is an important remnant from the Seljuk period.
