Süleyman Bey Mosque

Located next to the station building, Süleyman Bey Mosque was built in the classical Ottoman style. It was learned from Süleyman Bey's charter that it was built in 1683 by Süleyman Bey, the grandson of Üveys Paşazade Mehmet Bey and the son of Algerian Governor Mustafa Pasha.

Thought to have been built by one of Mimar Sinan's journeymen, this square-planned mosque with a courtyard is a single-domed structure made of cut stone. Its dome is placed on a 16-cornered frame on two-level body walls. The windows illuminating the mosque are located on the walls and on the pulley. From the outside, a narrow staircase leads to the women's gathering place. Dome interior decorations XVII. It was renovated according to the 19th century style. The mihrab is made of cut stone and the marble pulpit is inlaid under the stairs.

The body of the single balcony minaret is polygonal. The minaret of the mosque was destroyed in the earthquake of 1899, and the upper parts of the balcony were renewed. However, this renovation is far from its original state. The minaret, which was destroyed during the Greek occupation, was tried to be restored together with the mosque in 1954-1956.
