Adnan Menderes Democracy Museum
Adnan Menderes, who came to power with the first democratic election in Turkey and served as the Prime Minister between 1950-1960, was born in Aydın. The Democrat Party and Menderes period, which are considered as one of the important breaking and transformation points in the history of democracy in Turkey, have been kept alive as a sad memory in the common consciousness of the nation due to its recent discovery. The details of Menderes's life, which these memories inevitably cover, are very important for getting to know him and understanding his struggle. Established on the edge of the Çine Stream, which curves towards the farmhouse in Koçarlı, where Menderes spent his childhood years, our Museum was brought to life as a result of the long efforts and efforts of the Aydın Governorship.
