Atatürk Memorial Museum

Atatürk Memorial Museum is an art museum located in Şahinbey district of Gaziantep. When Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk came to Gaziantep on 26 January 1933, he was registered to the population of Bey District with the proposal of the Governor of that period Lütfi Bey and Mayor Hamdi Bey. For this reason, the Atatürk Memorial Museum was opened in Bey neighbourhood in 2013. The house where the Atatürk Memorial Museum was opened was previously the Antep house belonging to the Konukoğlu family. Later, it was donated to Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality for use as a museum. The museum with traditional Antep house architecture consists of two buildings and the buildings overlook the common courtyard. The museum has an open area of 220 square metres and a closed area of 400 square metres.
