Çanakkale City Museum and Archive
It is located on the corner of Fetvane Street that turns into Çarşı Street, and also across from the Yalı Mosque. It was opened to visitors on March 6, 2009. The ground floor of the two-storey building is reserved for temporary exhibitions on Çanakkale. These temporary exhibitions cover topics related to Çanakkale. Exhibitions usually change every two months.
It is in two interlocking sections on the first floor. In the first section, there are information boards on the Ancient Periods of Çanakkale, the Ottoman Period and the 1st World War. In addition to the information boards, some objects from the Dardanelles War are exhibited in the partitions on the wall. The second section is the main exhibition space. Here, there are illuminated information boards with texts and images about Çanakkale under various headings. In front of these panels, objects related to the subject and given to the museum as donations are exhibited. The titles of the texts here are: Population and Migration in Çanakkale; Architectural Heritage in Çanakkale; Life in the City; Economy in the City; Education in the City;. Handicrafts in Çanakkale; Local Press in Çanakkale; Mustafa Kemal Ataturk in Çanakkale City.
On the second floor there is the city archive and library. Apart from this, there is a restoration workshop, a city workshop, an administrative section and a multi-purpose hall.
