Gökçeada City Museum
Gökçeada City Museum, which was opened in 2017, is a pleasant museum to visit where you can learn about the social history of the island. Tracing the traces of the naive life on the island, seeing the belongings of its former inhabitants, and watching the simplicity of life fill one with intense feelings. Even if you come to the island for a day, you can definitely make your trip to the island more meaningful by visiting the museum.
The museum was selected as the best city museum in 2018 by the "Historical Cities Association". In the museum, there are many materials and photographs about the life that the Greeks once led, as well as a section where the stage costumes and belongings of Turkey's first clown, who lived in Gökçeada, are exhibited.
Located in the center of Gökçeada, the museum emerged with the restoration of the island's old bath. The museum, which is closed on Saturday and Sunday, can be visited between 09.00 and 19.00 on weekdays.
