Great Palace Mosaics Museum
The mosaics that emerged with the kitchens in 1935 in the northeastern part of the porticoed kitchens of the Eastern Roman Palace are both old and marvelous as depictions of scenes. Artifacts exhibited in the Great Palace Mosaics Museum M.S. While it is dated to 450-550 places, it does not contain religious content. Daily depictions of daily life, nature and daily life are designed to be brought up by the master under the direction of the leading masters of his age.
The museum is located inside the Arasta Bazaar in the Kulliye of the Blue Mosque and will be covered by the surviving mosaic floor covering in the northeastern part of the revised courtyard of the Great Palace from the Eastern Roman Period. If the mosaic study is not, the 180 square meter section will be finished until it is completed.
The Great Palace Mosaics Museum was attached to the Istanbul Archeology Museums in 1953. Since 1979, the Museum has been a subordinate unit to the Hagia Sophia Directorate. Conservation, which started in 1982 with the protocol between the Ministry of Culture, General Directorate of Monuments and Museums and Austrian Sciences, was completed in 1997.
