İkizevler City Museum

Gümüşhane İkizevler City Museum, which was opened to visitors in July 2006, is a typical example of historical Gümüşhane Mansions. The mansion, which dates back to 1920, was restored between 2004-2006. The building, which consists of ground, first floor and attic in the garden, was built in the technique of filling between the wooden frames and is plastered. The entrance to the museum, which consists of two separate mansions, is provided by wooden double doors on the ground floor and the first floor. The bottom of the first floor, which has a ½ protrusion on its front face, is supported by wooden beams and has a rectangular window opening. This place, which is called 'under the eave' in the local language, was used as a room and was arranged as a service space. The southwestern façade of the building is adjacent and the roof is hipped and covered with sheet metal sheets. The museum, which has a wide usage area by combining two separate mansions, has a kitchen, storage, three living rooms, two corridors, a break room and a washbasin on the ground floor. The entrance to the ground is provided by a double-wing wooden door. There is a guest room, mother-in-law's room, children's bedroom, cellar, break room, section where local rug looms are exhibited, bride-groom room, guest room and kitchen on the first floor, which can be accessed via an internal staircase from only one of the mansions. The first floor has two double-leaf doors providing entrance and exit. After the restoration, the attic was expanded and divided into two large halls. There are ten showcases in these halls where ethnographic works are exhibited. The works belong to the Ottoman period and the recent period.
