The art gallery is the building where visual arts are exhibited. From the middle of the 19th century, the gallery became popular in Western cultures. The gallery features paintings, drawings, sculptures, video, sound, performance, decorative arts, crafts and other collections. As part of the art world, contemporary art galleries organize two types of exhibitions: individual and collective. In individual galleries, the works of a single artist are exhibited to the public. In collective galleries, works by several artists are presented simultaneously, depending on the size of the gallery.
