Namık Kemal House
The museum was established in the memory of Turkish writer, journalist and poet Namık Kemal, close to the house where he was born in Tekirdağ in 1840. The building that houses the museum is a copy of the old Tekirdag houses. Namık Kemal House exhibits the works of Namık Kemal as well as the works written about him. Located on a hill, the house is surrounded by a large walled garden. A large garden gate opens to the street named Namık Kemal Caddesi in front of the house. There is a small open-air theater in the garden with a stage and audience area.
The exterior of the building is covered with wood to give it the appearance of an old wooden house. The house can also be entered via a few steps in the basement. The ground floor is covered with marble. The six rooms of the house are wooden.
