Samsun City Museum
Samsun City Museum buildings have a privileged place in terms of the railroad history of the city. Lines operated by foreign companies before the Republic were rapidly nationalized with the Republic, and a significant part of the country was covered with iron nets. This importance given to the railways is also reflected in the employees of the institution; Lodgings have been allocated to the personnel of this large and important institution.
The two main wooden structures that make up the City Museum buildings were built in this direction in 1928 as the Samsun-Sivas Railway Construction and Operation Administration and the State Railway Lodging. The ground floors of the wooden structures with two floors on the basement were used as administrative offices and the first floors were used as lodging. The small building on Cumhuriyet Caddesi next to these buildings was built in 1936 instead of the building used as an outbuilding. This additional building has been used as the tavern of Demirspor Club for many years.
