Saraydüzü Barracks Building National Struggle Museum and Congress Center
The Saraydüzü Kışla Building, which was used as a base by Mustafa Kemal when he came to Amasya in June 1919 and where the Amasya Circular was written, was rebuilt on the banks of Yeşilırmak in accordance with its originality, taking into account this historical importance. Besides being a museum where artifacts and some documents belonging to the Republican Period are exhibited, it is also used as a cultural center where various events are held. In the Milli Mücadele Hall of the Saraydüzü Barracks, which is open to visitors throughout the year, the moment of Mustafa Kemal's arrival in Amasya on 12 June 1919 and his welcome at the Kulistepe Mevkii are animated with 12 wax sculptures.
On the walls of the museum, there are copies and translations of the original documents of Mustafa Kemal Pasha's official assignment by the sultan while he was in Istanbul, and a board where Mustafa Kemal Pasha is told about the events that took place in Amasya for 12 days. In addition, sculptures that portray the writing of the Amasya Circular are exhibited. Today, Saraydüzü Kışla Building also serves as a cultural center with its amphitheater, exhibition halls and meeting rooms. In the museum, which is operated by the Amasya Governorship Provincial Culture and Tourism Directorate and the Museum Directorate, visitors can take pictures with amateur cameras.
