Urban History Museum
The City History Museum of Kastamonu Governorship is the first city museum established in Turkey in 2002 and is one of the city archive studies. The museum serves on the lower floor of the Government House, which was opened in 1902. The main purpose of this museum, which is one of the museology formats of a new understanding of our country, is to make the archive and documentation of Kastamonu. From this point of view, the museum goes to digital archiving of documents and photographs on Kastamonu with its works. On the other hand, a part of the library created is devoted to the printed works published on Kastamonu or published in Kastamonu. In addition to the collection tried to be created and studied with this value in the museum, the first handmade console piano made in Turkey and the 40 square meter handmade carpet made in the Art School are unique works for our country.
