Kop Mountain
Kop Mountain is a mountain within the Eastern Black Sea Mountains system. It lies in the south of the city center of Bayburt, between the valleys of the Çoruh River and the Karasu River. The mountain, which is an important transportation route connecting the Black Sea Region to Eastern Anatolia, has a height of 2918 m and is located within the borders of the Kop Mountain Defense Historical National Park.
The border of the Black Sea Region and the Eastern Anatolia Region passes through the summits of the mountain. The peaks of the mountain also separate the three provinces from each other. The northern part of the mountain is within the borders of Bayburt province, the southern part is within the borders of Erzurum in the east and Erzincan in the west. On the summits of the mountain is the Kop Mountain Martyrdom.
