Hacıosman Forest

Hacıosman Forest is in the Central Black Sea region and within the borders of Çınarcık Town, 20 km west of Çarşamba district of Samsun.

It has a total area of 121.5 hectares, 86.2 hectares of forestland and 35.3 hectares of open space called forest land. It is a flat land at sea level. Moles, turtles, snakes, water snakes, frogs, various songbirds and herons can be found in Hacıosman Forest Nature Reserve. Among all these, the most numerically dominant group are snakes. Haciosman Forest Nature Reserve, which was declared Turkey's first "nature protected area" by the Ministry of Forestry and Water Affairs in 1984, can only be entered for scientific studies for 33 years. The reason for this is that there are tree species and other endemic species in danger of extinction in the forest.
