Sıklık Nature Park

Sıklık Nature Park Recreation Area or Sıklık Recreation Area is a promenade and nature park 5 kilometers away from the center of Çorum. It is 30 km from Laçin and 37 km from the town of Mecitözü. It covers an area of 318 hectares. There are two fauna promotion areas established for the purpose of introducing wild animals to the visitors in the natural environment, and a botanical area where 165 different types of saplings are planted. Animal species living in this area include rabbit, squirrel, fox, wild boar, wolf, badger, mole, red hawk, hawk, crow, nightingale and henna partridge. The botanical area where 5,500 saplings of 165 different species are planted and the fauna promotion area, which was established as the first example of Turkey in 2012, are the most important features of the Sıklık Nature Park. There is a 10 meter high watchtower adjacent to the fauna display area. There are landscape viewing terraces, visitor promotion center, wooden tea garden, botanical garden, country restaurant, fountain, buffet, toilet, rain shelter and sports facilities for the benefit of the visitors in the park. The fauna promotion area, which was established on an area of 50 decares in 2012, turned into an animal production center and as a result of the increase in the number of animals, a new fauna area of 400 decares was created. As of 2019, it has been reported that there are 14 red deer, 14 wild goats, 3 roe deer, 6 mountain gazelles and 3 rabbits in both fauna promotion areas. First of all, in 1992, 30 hectares of the area where the existing park is located was declared as a recreation area. The area was expanded to 318 hectares in 2014. In 2018, the number of annual visitors reached 180 thousand.
