Bentler Nature Park
Bentler Nature Park is a nature park located in the Sarıyer district of Istanbul. Embankments means “dams.” The nature park covers an area of 16.3 hectares (40 acres), 1 kilometer (0.62 mi) from the Bahçeköy district of Sarıyer. The park, established in 2011, is one of the nine nature parks within the Belgrade Forest. The protected area takes its name from historical dams, the Topuzlu Dam (Topuzlu Bendi, built in 1750), the Valide Dam (Valide Bendi, built in 1796) and the Yeni Dam (Yeni Bent or Mahmud II Dam, built in 1839). There are also other structures such as the Iskara Dam and historical fountains from the Ottoman Empire period. Bentler Nature Park has two entrances: the main entrance of the Belgrade Forest and the Kurtkemeri Gate. The nature park offers its visitors outdoor recreation activities such as daily hiking, cycling and picnics. There are playgrounds for children. There is an entrance fee for visitors and vehicles.
