Kırmıtlı Bird Sanctuary
The high parts of the Amanos Mountains in the central district of Osmaniye are among the important bird areas in Turkey. Species such as storks, bee hawks, black meadowlarks, hawks and small forest eagles can be seen in these high areas used by migratory birds as migration routes.
Kırmıtlı Bird Sanctuary also has the status of an important bird area due to the bird species it harbors.
Some of the species that give Kırmıtlı Bird Sanctuary the status of an important bird sanctuary are Night Heron, Kingfisher, Pied Kingfisher and Izmir Kingfisher.
The region is one of the rare areas where three species of kingfishers are found together. There are 250 bird species identified so far in Kırmıtlı Bird Sanctuary.
