Porsuk Stream
Porsuk Stream is a river in the Central Anatolia Region.
It is the longest tributary of the Sakarya River with a length of 448 kilometers. It is formed by the merger of Bayatçık Stream descending from the northern slope of Aksu Mountain and Kızıltaş Stream descending from the northern slope of Murat Mountain on the Kütahya - Uşak border.
After passing through the Kütahya Plain and collecting behind the Porsuk Dam located southwest of the city of Eskişehir, which was commissioned in two phases in 1948 and 1971, it passes through the Eskişehir Plain and the city of Eskişehir; it reaches the Sakarya River in the Kıranharmanı village of Polatlı opposite Yassıhüyük.
Porsuk Stream often freezes during the winter season.
Porsuk Stream, which was a dumping ground for domestic and industrial wastes for many years, started to be cleaned during the reign of Mayor Yılmaz Büyükerşen, and as a result of many years of work, it was cleaned in the 2000s and brought to the city.
Its main tributaries are: Kokar Stream, Murat Stream, Çat Stream, Porsuk Stream, Değirmen Stream, Felent Stream, Kuduzlu Stream, Kınık Stream, Kargın Stream, Musaözü Stream and Uludere are its southern tributaries. Sarısu Stream, Sarısungur Stream, Mihalıççık Stream, Muttalip Stream and Pürtek Stream join Porsuk from the east and north.
The flow rate of the Porsuk stream does not exceed 15 m3/sec.
