Bahariye Carpet
The oldest surviving carpet was found in the frozen tomb of a Scythian prince. Since the carpet was completely frozen in an ice block, it has survived to the present day. The oldest known pile carpet in the world is wool, dating back to 5th-4th BC. It dates from the 16th century and is called "Pazirik Carpet" because it is located in the Pazirik Valley. This carpet was found by Sergei Ivanovich Rudenko during an excavation in a Siberian mound in 1949. It is said that the origin of this carpet is based on Turkic groups, Scythians or Persian Achaemenids living in Siberia.
