Alaf Restaurant
Alaf is a nomadic restaurant nourished by its roots. In Yörük dialect, Alaf means embered flame. With the name derived from Kurdish, the area turned into Alaf over time, from language to language. With this richness created by migration and integration in Alaf, today you will be a guest at a nomad table, tomorrow you will be a guest at a Kurdish table, then maybe at an Armenian table, maybe at a Yezidi table. There will be various forms of fire that evoke memories from our childhood, from the hearth that used to be set up in the living room of the house and socialize the family, to the wood oven and the cooker, and Alaf will also have cooking techniques. You will have the opportunity to experience our traditional flavors and cultural heritage in a different environment. At Alaf tables, sometimes accompanied by our own beers, sometimes with a Syriac wine in our glasses, you will feel this cultural sharing and be a part of this valuable food and beverage heritage that we strive to understand and convey. We share our table and excitement with you in this experience that includes these cultures.
