Katipler Mansion
Seyit Mehmetzade Mustafa Efendi was appointed as a battalion clerk to the Fourth Redif Battalion of the Fiftieth Kengiri Regiment in 1878 and started to work in Çorum. In the following years, he participated in the Turkish-Greek war with his battalion and was awarded the Medal of Honor and Medjidi Order by Abdülhamit II for his success. On his return to Çorum, the construction of the mansion on Alaybey Street begins. The wooden mansion, the construction of which was completed in 1882, bears all the features of the structures of the Abdülhamit period. It has two storeys and a garden in the plan type with an inner sofa. It is registered as a cultural property to be protected and is located within the urban site area. It was used as a residence until 1975. It was restored in 1995 and opened as a private restaurant certified by the Ministry of Tourism. In addition to curtains and panels embroidered with Turkish motifs in the mansion; The belongings, photographs and documents belonging to the people living in the mansion are exhibited.
