Çoruh River

Artvin Çoruh river steep and impassable mountains cover a large part of the territory of Artvin. The Coruh river passes through these mountainous regions and reaches the Black Sea. The length of Çoruh within the borders of Artvin is approximately 150 kilometers.

The river is 3225 meters long  , which emerges from the Mescit Mountains at an altitude of 466 kilometers and flows into the Black Sea within the borders of Georgia, is also one of the fastest flowing rivers in the world. and foreign athletes.

Çoruh river surroundings also host many tourism activities. The most suitable route to summit the Kaçkar Mountains is via the Yaylalar village near the region. It is possible to find local guides and mules to carry goods.

The Çoruh river, which has rich flora and fauna, is one of our rivers that preserves its natural characteristics. On some rocks around the river, endangered griffon vulture species live in colonies. In addition, along the Coruh valley, brown bear, hook horned mountain goat, wild boar, wolf, jackal, fox, badger, marten, otter, rabbit, partridge, partridge, wild cock, woodcock, wild duck, turtledove, oriole, yellow sandal, juniper bird, pigeon, wooden bird and various wild animal species.
