Göksu Canyon&River

Göksu is a canyon and river that flows through the provinces of Antalya, Konya, Karaman and Mersin and empties into the Mediterranean Sea in the south of Silifke district of Mersin province. The length of the Göksu River is 260 km and its catchment area is 10,000 km². It has two branches of roughly the same length: the northern branch is Gökçay, the southern branch is Gökdere, both originating from the Geyik Mountains in the Taurus Mountains. The Geyik Mountains are between Antalya-Gündoğmuş and Konya-Hadim and are located 50 km north of Alanya. After passing through Karaman-Ermenek, these two branches merge to the south of Mut and take the name Göksu, and then pour into the Mediterranean in the delta known as Paradeniz, south of Silifke. The following dams were built on Göksu and its tributaries.
