Bedesten Bazaar

In 1417 - 1418, Çelebi Sultan Mehmet had the Old Mosque built as a foundation. It is a 14-domed building with ornamental walls covered with bi-coloured cut stones. The domes are covered with lead. 40.54 - 74.94 m. There are doors on all four sides of the building. There is a pointed arched window under each dome. Inside, there are 14 vaulted cells on the long sides and 4 cells on the short sides. Evliya Celebi. He writes that the diamonds and jewelery in the bedesten were worth a few Egyptian treasures and that sixty night watchmen guarded them. Bedesten, which has been repaired in recent years, is used as a bazaar.
