Coppersmith Bazaar
This bazaar is also called "Kazancilar Carsisi". Almost all of the kitchen utensils and dinnerware used in Mardin consisted of copper. Therefore, the profession of coppersmith was widespread in Mardin. The copper ore brought as ingot was melted and used to make household items, from the smallest dinner plates to the largest cauldrons. A person entering the carers' bazaar could neither make his voice heard from the sound of the hammer beating the copper, nor could he hear his own voice. This bazaar completely belonged to the coppersmiths. Today, this handicraft is tried to be kept alive.
