Faruk Güllüoğlu
More than being a brand and a company name, Güllüoğlu, whose name is synonymous with baklava, is the name of a family from Gaziantep that has been engaged in baklava making for 5 generations since 1871. In 1871, Güllü Çelebi, the great grandfather, decided to do this business he saw in Aleppo on his way to pilgrimage. He had in mind to remake the magnificent dessert he learned there in his own land. Until that day, baklava was a dessert that was eaten in the Ottoman palace, but special craftsmen were brought from different provinces to make it and it did not go outside the palace, and it was Güllü Çelebi who introduced it to the public for the first time.
Güllü Çelebi rolled out 40 layers of thin dough, combined it with fragrant butter and syrup, and decorated it with pistachios. Baklava became a gift to Turkish cuisine from the Güllüoğlu family, who produced the most precious dessert of a nation that eats sweet and speaks sweet.
Following in the footsteps of Mustafa Güllü, who introduced the Güllüoğlu brand to the retail sector, family members have been continuing the baklava business for more than 140 years with the knowledge, experience, respect and meticulousness inherited from father to son. With the vision of carrying our products produced with centuries-old Güllüoğlu experience and traditional values all over Turkey and beyond our borders, and with the mission of being accessible wherever our customers want to consume our products and becoming their first choice, our brand is growing stronger and stronger every day and continues to take firm steps towards the future by reaching 43 branches in Istanbul and 84 branches throughout Turkey.
