Historical Wheat Bazaar

Historical Wheat Market, located on Taşkapı Medrese Street in Karakurt Neighborhood, was built by Konya Governor Ferid Pasha of Avlonyalı in 1901 and registered as a cultural property in 1989, according to the inscription on its door. There were monumental entrance gates made of stone and brick material in the middle of the east and west facades of the market, which consisted of single-storey shops and warehouses lined up around an irregular courtyard. As it is understood from the original parts that have survived, the shops had arched sections facing the street and the courtyard, and flat lathed wooden ceilings in the interior. The outer parts of the shops were used as offices and the parts facing the courtyard were used as warehouses.
