Antalya style blarney has a reputation that goes beyond the borders of the province with its history of nearly a hundred years. Developed and famous in Antalya, piyaz has become a local product that local and foreign guests visiting the city do not leave without tasting due to its production technique. Antalya bean dish is a bean dish with tarator sauce. While blarney varieties made in other regions are consumed as salads, it is eaten as a main dish in Antalya and its districts. The distinguishing feature of Antalya style blarney is; It arises from the use of tarator sauce, the way it is produced, the way tarator is made (tahini, lemon juice, vinegar, salt, garlic, olive oil, water) and the small beans used. In works written about Antalya, it is stated that Çandır beans, which were used in the past, add specialness to the dish. Nowadays, since Çandır bean production is very limited, small-grained, matte, veined Row type dry beans, which have the characteristics of this bean, are used. In this way, beans do not fall apart while cooking. Piyaz gets its distinctive main flavor from its small beans and the tarator sauce poured abundantly on the beans. Antalya style blarney has taken its place among the geographically marked products with the Mahreç sign registered by the Turkish Patent Institute in 2017.
