Arabian Coffee

Arabic coffee is a coffee brewed from Coffea Arabica beans. Most Arab countries in the Middle East have developed different methods for brewing and preparing coffee. Cardamom is a frequently added spice, but alternatively it can be served plain or with sugar.

There are several different methods of brewing coffee, depending on the drinker's preference. Some methods keep the coffee light, while others can make it darker. Arabian coffee is bitter and usually does not contain added sugar. It is usually served in a small bowl decorated with a decorative pattern known as a cup. Culturally, Arabic coffee is served at family gatherings or when hosting guests.

Arabic coffee is rooted in Middle Eastern and Arabic culture and tradition and is the most popular type of coffee brewed in the Middle East. Originating in the Middle East, beginning in Yemen and eventually reaching Mecca (Hijaz), Egypt, the Levant, and then Turkey and then Europe in the mid-16th century, coffee eventually became popular. Arabic coffee is the intangible cultural heritage of the Arab states, approved by UNESCO.
