Boza
Boza, a lightly fermented millet beverage, is usually served with cinnamon and roasted chickpeas. Boza is a winter drink made from millet semolina, water and sugar. It is one of the oldest known Turkish drinks. Today, it is made in some parts of the old Ottoman geography and Central Asian geography. It is a beverage that is drunk in countries such as Turkey, Kosovo, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro, Serbia, Romania from the Balkan geography and in parts of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan from Asia. Boza is generally drunk during the winter months. Boza season is between 15 September and 15 May. If stored under suitable conditions, the period in which boza maintains its drinkable consistency is 6 or 7 days.
