Bursa Peach
Bursa is a city famous for its peaches. Peach, which grows in many different species in Bursa, is one of the most popular fruits of the summer months. The peach, which is thought to have spread to the world from China, is seen as a symbol of longevity and immortality. The peach tree lives an average of 30 years, but in Bursa, the trees are uprooted after 15-20 years at most. It is abundantly juicy and the most important feature of its sweet fruit is its hairy skin. For those who do not like this velvety texture, a hairless variety called nectarine has been widely produced in Bursa in recent years. The one whose core is easily separated is called splitting, and the one that sticks to the meat is called a meat peach. Split peach is usually consumed as a fresh fruit. Meat peach is used in canning. There are two species known as white and yellow-fleshed in our country. With the opening of Bursa Plain for construction, peach production areas are also decreasing gradually.
