Çiriş Meal

It is a delicacy made with çiriş herb found in Kayseri and Erzurum regions. It is a herb found only in this region and it is a dish that can be consumed in season. Weed grass is called wild leek. Çiriş herb is roasted with onion and tomato paste and made into a meal. If desired, bulgur or rice can be added. It is a juicy dish that is usually eaten with bread. It is even more delicious when served with yogurt on it. Çiriş is a dish made at home by the ladies of Kayseri.
