Cağ kebab, the kebab of our ancestors, which dates back to the Ottoman period, was first made in some districts and villages of Erzurum, Kars and Artvin provinces. Cağ kebab, known as “BİCO” at that time, was presented to the taste of kebab lovers in Erzurum center by our founder Kemal KOÇ in 1982. Kemal KOÇ, who was inspired by the name of the signboard of the “TORTUM KEBABI CAĞLI” business at that time, changed it to “KOÇ MEŞHONUR TORTUM CAĞ KEBAP SALON”. Cağ kebab, which circulated from tongue to tongue, became indispensable for those who tasted it. Koç Cağ Kebap Hall, which has become a favorite place for local and foreign tourists, artists, politicians, scientists and scholars, has maintained its place at the top with its superior quality and service understanding day by day. Kemal KOÇ, who aims to make the cağ kebab, which has won the favor of his customers, known and tasted worldwide, has opened branches in different cities and made cağ kebab widespread.

Koç Cağ kebab saloon has started to serve in Erzurum, Antalya and finally Ankara. KOÇ patented the cağ kebab and branded the name “KOÇ MEŞŞHÜRÜR TORTUM CAĞ KEBABI”. Thus, Kemal KOÇ won the title of “Inventor of CAĞ KEBAB”. Kemal KOÇ, who is also the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Erzurum's first private television channel Kanal 25, was awarded the GOLDEN MAN OF THE 81st YEAR award.
