Şambali
Şambali or Şam dessert is a semolina dessert from Turkish cuisine. Yogurt, semolina, and flour are the main ingredients. The mixture is poured onto a greased tray and almonds or peanuts are placed on top. First, it is baked in the oven until golden brown. The boiled syrup, consisting of sugar, water, and lemon juice, is poured over it while it is hot. It is served cold. It is a dessert specific to Western Anatolia, especially Izmir. It has a geographical indication under the name Izmir Şambalisi. It is made especially during Ramadan.
