Sumac Sorbet

Sumac sherbet is a flavor that even sherbet lovers do not know much about. If you have not been to Mardin, there is a high probability that you are hearing it for the first time. Sumac, which we add to our meals and which is very well known for its healing aspect, is also consumed as sherbet in Mardin. The local people sweeten the sumac seeds with warm water, lemon juice and honey, and serve it with ice after draining it well. Adding cinnamon or ginger optionally, sherbet can be consumed with pleasure, especially in the historical texture of Mardin.
