The following legend is told about the hot spring, known colloquially as ESİRE. It is known that the Hungarian Emperor, known as Vlad the Impaler, was imprisoned in the historical Eğrigöz Castle on the Eğrigöz Mountain, located in the south-west of the Emet district. According to the legend, leprosy is usually seen in the captives due to the very bad environment of the captives imprisoned in the historical Eğrigöz Castle. A prisoner who fell ill with leprosy, which was incurable at that time, thinks that salvation can only be possible with death, and wants to die by jumping into the river called Kocaçay, which passes near the castle and where hot water is mixed at the same time. But the prisoner does not die. While trying to escape by swimming against the flow of the river, he realizes that the water is getting warmer. Taking advantage of the darkness of the night, he decides to spend the night in this water. The sick and exhausted prisoner stays where the hot waters come out. After a while, he realizes that his illness is getting better. Upon this, he gave up escaping and returned to the castle again, and telling the castle commander what had happened to him, ensuring that the other prisoners were healed from this hot water. From that day on, it was called ESIR BATH, but this name changed over time and was transferred to today as ESIR. This place, where there are still hot waters, is called ESERE SPAS.
