Ankara Tourist Guides Rooms ANRO

In 1992, the Ankara Tourist Guides Association (ARED) was established in Ankara, marking the first step toward professional organization. It continues its existence as the Ankara Tourist Guides Chamber (ANRO).

Since the Tourist Guide Profession Law No. 6326, dated June 7, 2013, mandated that professional organizations be structured as "professional chambers," efforts to establish a professional chamber in Ankara were initiated under the leadership of ARED. With the support of colleagues living in Ankara, a sufficient number of applications were received. On November 27, 2012, the last four term presidents of ARED and the members of its board of directors met and personally submitted the application for the establishment of the chamber to Ankara Governor Alaaddin Yüksel, thus initiating the process. On March 11, 2013, the "Ankara Tourist Guides Chamber" was officially established with the approval of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey.

On March 28, 2013, an application was submitted to the Ankara Çankaya 1st District Election Board for the first ordinary general assembly. April 28 was set for a majority meeting and May 5 for a non-quorum meeting. The first ordinary general assembly, held on Sunday, May 5, 2013, in the National Library Conference Hall, resulted in the election of the management and audit boards, as well as the union delegates. Following the completion of the post-election procedures of the regulations, we received our certificate of election from the District Election Board on May 10, 2013, and our chamber officially began operations.
