ATRO Aydın Tourism Guides Room

Our Vision: To be the most respected, most reliable, and most excellent Chamber of Guides, providing the most excellent service nationally, with a people-centered approach to contemporary management and mission.

Our Mission: To foster the solidarity and protect the common interests of those who practice the tourist guiding profession, with the primary goal of developing Turkish tourism in line with Atatürk's principles and reforms; to cooperate with the Ministry of Tourism and non-governmental organizations operating in the tourism sector; to participate in national and international professional organizations; to contribute to the provision of the necessary conditions for tourists to enjoy the best possible travel and residence; and to ensure the preservation and promotion of historical and cultural heritage and natural beauty.

Our History: Our law, finalized at the TUREB (Tourist Guides Association) meeting held in Ankara on January 4-5, 2012, was submitted to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

The Ministry submitted the draft law to the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) Public Works, Zoning, Transportation, and Tourism Commission on May 15, 2012, and was debated and enacted in the TBMM General Assembly on June 6, 2012.

Immediately following the enactment of the law, KURED (Kuşadası Guides Association) held informational meetings, spearheading the establishment of the Aydın Tourist Guides Chamber and assuming its secretariat. A petition for the establishment of the chamber, comprising 241 tourist guides residing in Aydın and Denizli provinces, was quickly prepared with the necessary documentation and submitted to the Aydın Governor's Office on July 20, 2012.

Meanwhile, TUREB held meetings to develop the Tourist Guide Regulation, and a draft was prepared. The prepared regulation was submitted to the Ministry at the end of January, and the Ministry submitted the necessary amendments and final version to the relevant institutions and the Prime Ministry. The Tourist Guide Profession Regulation was published in the Official Gazette on February 23, 2013, and entered into force.

After completing the collection of official documents and authorizing TUREB for the election, a petition was submitted to the Aydın District Election Board on April 3, 2013, requesting that the first ordinary general assembly of the Aydın Tourist Guides Chamber be held on May 6, 2013.

At the first session at the Aydın Commodity Exchange, 121 participants from a total of 238 were present, marking the first general assembly of the Aydın Tourist Guides Chamber in its history.

Following the elections, a six-member board of directors, a three-member audit committee, and a five-member delegation were elected. KURED, one of the leading institutions in organized tour guide life in Turkey, passed the baton to ATRO (Aydın Tourist Guides Chamber).

With the enactment of our professional law, the Ankara, Aydın, Muğla, and Nevşehir Chambers, as well as the Adana, Bursa, Çanakkale, Gaziantep, Şanlıurfa, and Trabzon Regional Chambers, were added to the existing Istanbul, Izmir, and Antalya Chambers.

Thus, TUREB, the Union of 13 Tourist Guide Chambers, was established. At the TUREB general assembly held on July 18, 2013, ATRO collaborated with İZRO (Izmir Guide Chamber) and MURO (Muğla Guide Chamber) to ensure that representatives from the Aegean region were included on the management, audit, and disciplinary boards.

ATRO, which has demonstrated its success as an exemplary and leading institution, will continue to make a name for itself with projects and audits in Aydın and Denizli.
