King Khalid International Airport
King Khalid International Airport is an airport located 35 km north of Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. The airport was built in 1983 to meet Riyadh's increasing international and local air transport needs, replacing Riyadh Airport, which is now a base of the Royal Saudi Air Force. The airport consists of 4 passenger terminals, a mosque, a parking lot for 11,600 cars, the Royal Terminal used by the Saudi Royal Family and hosting guest leaders, a central control tower and two runways with a length of 4,260 meters. The airport also served as an alternative for NASA's space shuttles.
