Adatepe Village

Adatepe is a village in Ayvacık district of Çanakkale province. The village has had the same name since 1912. In 1924, Adatepe was one of the Turkish villages included in the population exchange. On the side of the village facing the sea, there is an altar known as the Altar of Zeus. Declared in 1989 as a protected area, the village of Adatepe is still under the protection of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.The village is 105 km from Çanakkale provincial centre and 35 km from Ayvacık district centre.It is located in Küçükkuyu sub-district. It is located on the southwestern slope of Mount Ida, north of the Edremit Gulf.
