Anatolian Lighthouse
Anadolufeneri is a village established on a small peninsula between Çakaltepe and Kabakoz bays in the part of the Bosphorus opening to the Black Sea. It was founded in 1658. Anadolufeneri, one of the most famous villages of Beykoz, was named after the lighthouse located here. Anadolufeneri; Although it has entered the status of a neighbourhood in accordance with the decisions taken as of 2014, it still lives a life away from urbanisation with its dairies, farms and fishing profession.
Although it is thought that the first reason for the establishment of the village was that the lighthouse keepers who had to come and go to light the lighthouse in the village gradually started to settle around the lighthouse, the date when the lighthouse was actually built is not clearly known. The clearest information in the researches carried out is that there was a wooden lighthouse in the region in 1755 and it was accepted that it was transformed into its present form in 1834.
