Çeçeva Village
Even if we say a small village, Çeçeva is one of the largest villages in Rize's Çayeli district. There are those who say that the name is a relic from the time of the Pontus Kingdom, and there are those who say that this name is actually a meaningless name that was made up later. But the people most want their village to be mentioned as Haremtepe.
The village, which is 60 meters above sea level, is built on a steep slope and consists of a scattered settlement. Unfortunately, Çeçeva is one of Çayeli's most immigrant villages, despite its postcard-like scenery and stable tea production for every household. The number of households is small and almost every household has a teapot. But due to the low income of tea, the young people of the village prefer to live in big cities. Let's underline that tea is not the only product of the village, whose whole livelihood is agriculture, and that most of the kiwis we eat like medicine in winter are produced here.
