Zeno
The old name of the settlement is “Zenoulucami”.After the vicinity of Of came under Ottoman sovereignty in 1461, the settlement is mentioned among the villages affiliated to the Of kaza at that time under the name of “Zeno”. According to the 1486 survey, there were 79 households, 6 bive (widows) and 2 mücerred (adult single men), 3 baştina, 2 müsellem and 2 yamak households in the village named Zino (Zeno). According to the 1515 survey; there were 45 households and 3 bive, 10 bintin and 12 musellem (tax-exempt) households and a musellem bive. At this date, there was also a Muslim population in the village except for the military officers. According to the 1554 records, there were 50 normal households, 17 bintin households and 7 musellem households in the village. It is stated that falcon breeding was practiced in the village at this date. In 1583, the male population in the village was recorded as 54 ispenç, 11 bennak and 1 mücerred. Based on this, it is understood that the Muslim-Christian population, predominantly Christian, lived together in the village. It is 82 km to Trabzon province and 8 km to Çaykara district. It is located on the eastern side of the Solaklı Valley. There are Alaysa, Tufa (Zeno Tufa), Sarıkaya, Yente Plateau, Geriki Plateau connected to the neighborhood.
